The location is extraordinary, and we never lost track of time. The service was perfect, given the number of visitors. The French-speaking guide was excellent. A place I'd never heard of, not to be missed on a trip to Krakow.

Great service, reliable, and easy to book an outing on Headout . Salt Mines is well worth seeing, but if you are thinking of going to Auschwitz aswell, I would visit Auschwitz first and Salt Mine second, reason being, alot of steps (800) to decent in Salt Mines, can effect the back of your legs if you are not used to it. Auschwitz is flat walking.
Entry to the mines was very straightforward and easy. The tour guide was so friendly and knowledgeable. The mines themselves were fantastic Only negative? Being crammed into the lift at the end
The tour to the salt mines is highly recommended. But undoubtedly, the most recommendable thing is the attention we received from our contact to provide us with the tickets and help us with the access: GRZEGORZ REISER. Due to problems with transportation to the meeting point, we could not arrive at the agreed time, so we already gave the reservation for lost; but he contacted us by whatsapp, did not wait for + 20 minutes, helped us to locate our entrance line, and also was waiting until he checked that we could access with the tickets he had provided us. In addition, he gave us tips on places to eat, drink something..... The pity is that we were already leaving the next day back home, otherwise we would not hesitate to call him for anything else. However, we will do so the day we return to Krakow (which we will).

At the entrance there was no signage for the entrance without a queue, so we stood in a long queue. I was there a few years ago and then we went to other places that were not on this tour. For example, the area where you can see the work of the prisoners in World War II and there is a Star of David carved by a Jewish prisone I remember there were other interesting and beautiful places that we didn't see on this tour. I must say that the instructor was very good, pleasant, and very professional.
There were of it the group some late due to unclear meeting place. Had signed up with guide I got app reminder that we had excursion. So people were not on time so we waited outside in the cold/rain and started at least half an hour later. Tour and guide was perfect. Reception and communication was poor.

If you haven't been you definitely should to tick it off the bucket list. However, it is a long tour with hard flooring throughout so it's not everyone.
Great guide, little disappointed that we came out of a different shaft and a normal elevator in the town. Good experience.
Very interesting and amazing things made from salt. Just worth noting the stairs down are not for the faint hearted and being down there for so long feels quite drawn out . Glad we went though
Excellent visit to the salt mines. Very informative guide, and stunning sculptures & carvings. The whole thing is extremely well presented & although you do need to be fairly fit due to all the steps down & walking, it is stunning so well worth it.
Ticketing with you was easy and I found the prices cheaper. Some of the staff at the experience were very rude! and no no language barrier! the event itself was amazing
Tickets were easy to book. The guide was informative and funny. Souvineers were good value. Be aware that the walk to the lift at the end takes ages!
Beautiful impressive cave. I would like more attractions inside besides walking, like train ride, slide or something similar (experience from caves in other countries).

From the time of booking there were clear instructions where to go and what to do before the visit. At the site, things were arranged well to get the tour going. The tour guide was a very pleasant person. All in all, very nice experience.
Friendly, well-founded, entertaining guided tour in German You can stay in the mine from the end of the tour until closing time. Underground restaurant inexpensive and pleasant

The tour was super informative and an awesome experience, phone tickets are so handy to scan on your way in - our tour guide Veronica was lovely and her English speaking was exceptional!
We had a wonderful guide Joanne, who told us everything about the Saltmine, so interesting, we were equally impressed with the statues carved from salt. Will definitely visit again in the future. *****
The mine is just out of this world and so interesting. The tour guide was knowledgeable but so animated and engaging which added to an already great experience.
A Great and Informative Experience The tour was overall a very enjoyable experience! The tour lady was incredibly friendly and made an effort to keep things engaging throughout. The amount of information shared during the tour was impressive and added a lot of value to the visit. That said, there were a couple of logistical hiccups. The car park wasn’t immediately obvious upon arrival as the coach parking dominated the area. Thankfully, we eventually found it located behind the coach parking area. Additionally, the instructions for the meeting point were a bit unclear, as it was labeled with someone’s name, but it turned out to be the main entrance. A little more clarity on this would have been helpful. On the bright side, check-in was quick and easy—just a ticket scan with no need to show ID. I would highly recommend booking this tour for the morning or late afternoon as it lasts 2.5 hours. Be prepared for a fair amount of walking and warm conditions inside, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and well worth it. Definitely recommend!
Incredible experience. Such a fascinating place with a rich history. Knowledgeable guide that told us the interesting history of this enourmous salt mine
An incredible visit to Wieliczka with an exceptional guide who made the experience even more exciting with his captivating stories. 100% recommended!

The place is extraordinary! I wasn't expecting this... the tour was very well organized, and the French-speaking guide was top-notch.

I liked that I didn't have to wait the line. But the transfer of the tickets was successful only by a coincidence and little more instructions as to "some person will call your name in front of the main entrance" would be helpful.
Absolutely Fabulous experience. Sights that I will never forget! Our guide was brilliant. She was very descriptive about the mine's past and very engaging. If you are in Poland, this is a must!

Other than the lovely saltmines and the optional museum. Our roundtrip transfer driver was kind and supportive with a hint of humor. The only part when I was concerned was the salt mine had strict backpack demensions. (IMPORTANT NOTE: This was a restriction imposed by the mine, not the tour operator!) I'm glad to say at the moment of this writing; backpacks (aproximately a school backpack) are allowed into the mine. I assume they are trying to avoid hiking sized backpacks into the cave for safety reasons and to make the experience more comfortable for other guests. Before attending, Please reconfirm that the backpack restrictions haven't changed! I strongly recommend this tour. It is an absolute must!
The transfer service was excellent, the driver was very friendly. The guide was attentive at all times and gave clear and precise explanations.

It was fine. Met my expectations but did not exceed them. A lot of walking that I was not aware of and long wait time . . Glad I went
The mines are very worthwhile! The timetables were met, the bus was comfortable and the experience was well worth the money!

The tour was well organised, and informative. The mines themselves are breathtaking. We did get a message saying wrap up warm however it was very warm down there. The layers weren't needed, just a pain having to carrying coats etc
driver was friendly took us to our destination and back where we wanted. the guide Patricia (I think) told it very nice sometimes with a nice joke in between. She told it very interestingly.

This was an incredible tour, to see What was created down below And of salt was really Remarkable! I would highly recommend this tour!
Everything was very good. The guide's name was Adam and he was very nice and the transportation service, although it was a van and not a bus, was fine. There was no problem, and everything was as indicated in the itinerary. I would repeat with them, no doubt.

Our driver Janek was absolutely fantastic -wish he could have stayed with us in the Salt mines too! He was friendly, pleasant and so informative -mafe our trip.
Very well organized. Only negative point: the meeting point indicated on the application is not the right one, fortunately we had left before because if not we would miss the visit. The tour operator was responsive enough to give us this information. The transfers with the driver went well: pleasant driver, careful driving, gave clear explanations about the organization. The tour took place with a French-speaking guide, who gave us full explanations and told us all about the anectodes with a great deal of humor. The mine is splendid, full of beauty. 5/5

The actual tour was fantastic and our guide was wonderful. The drivers were very unfriendly and didnt even say hello. Only one spoke to lead us to get our tickets and pass us over to the guide. The other one didn't speak at all.
Punctuality and kindness. A small drawback was that the end of the tour and the return to Krakow did not allow us to visit the Museum after the visit to the Mine. A little too short

Friendly and punctual driver-guide, lots of interesting discussions on the way to the mines. A surprising and highly instructive visit.

We were blown away by bthe shear scale of the workings and the spaces created underground. Also marvelled at the engineering. Astonishing to think this was all done with hand tools until the 20th century.
The guide Kryztof was very nice and he explained all the interesting facts about life in the mine. We will definitely recommend this visit to everyone. It was amazing to see how deep was the mine and the chambers over there.
Our guide was very informative and amusing. Paid attention to the needs of the group and allowed time to observe and appreciate the mine experience.
Victoria was an amazing tour guide! The visit was so much more than I could have ever expected. What a beauty and so much history. Simply stunning!
The Salt Mines are amazing. The detail in the figures and exhibits is outstanding. Our guide was very good and extremely clear in her explanations. It was certainly worth visiting. The one negative was that our booking included pick up and drop off from our hotel. We were picked up on time but the operator told us that they do not offer drop off service and this was an error by the company we bought the tour from. So we were dropped some distance from our hotel. This was disappointing.
Good experience, highly recommend. Inside you don't need sweatshirts or big covers, just a jacket or sweater to put on if there is a current for the rest you are fine even in half sleeves. The only flaw is the audio, sometimes if you are in the back of the group you don't hear the explanations well. Regardless, you can't help but go there!

Spectacular visit, what you have been told or expect to find is nothing comparable to what you see. Be prepared to go down 100 floors of stairs and to walk a few kilometers through subway galleries. The guides are from the museum itself and know the place perfectly. The rooms that are visited, 10 or 12 in total have spectacular sizes, you are not able to imagine it from the outside.

the guide is very knowledgeable, helpful and courteous. I also recommend the experience because the salt mines are a very special place.

Given the crowds, it was preferable to be accompanied by a guide. The explanations were clear and precise, and the English easily understood. Some of the rooms are sumptuous!

The main problem is that we visited the Salt mine first & Not Auschwitz/ Birkanau. by the time we reached Birkinau it was too dark to see anything. it would make more sense to visit the Salt mines later when darkness doesn't matter.
The picked up was very close to our air bnb. Our guide was experienced and she gave clear explanation and very informative. We truly benefited.
It was a very insgihtful and eyeopening trip/expereince. However, the last minute changes to the travel itenirary could have been better, initially we were set to depart from Krakow at 9:00 AM, instead we were told to meet at 5:00 AM in the morning. Sure we had a good trip, however the change of timings was very inconvinient.
The driver was great, and the guide gave us a good understanding of what happened. It was a great time.

++ Very well done guided tour with lots of detailed information. Instructions were clear for transportation and meeting point. The two tours flowed well from the camps to the Salt Mines! -- Lots of visitors to the Auschwitz Museum on Monday morning, so we were a bit pressed for time, which didn't give us much time to reflect.

Really enjoyed all went smoothly except the driving! The driver was very jerky slammed on his brakes at every roundabout or when he came up behind slow moving trucks just didn't seem to judge ahead much so impossible to have a sleep on the journey, also had radio on quite loud.
Daniel out bus driver was great the boy in the salt mine tour the same unfortunately the the woman in the camp tour was dissapoing she walked too fast and when you caught up you had missed important I so you couldn't ask her eny question
The tour was an eye opening experience, as it is only when you are there that you get to see how systematic the actions were carried out there. Also, the guide -a Polish woman- was very knowledgeable and always open to answering questions, which was much appreciated.
Italian guide, meticulous explanation of everything in Auschwitz. Fair breaks and good time transfers. Only flaw that on the way back the driver dropped us off 2km from the hotel, when it was specified during the reservation that they would drop us off near our hotel since it was evening.

Very interesting places, very professional, friendly and willing guides. The drivers were very good. The tour of Auschwitz was very well organized inside the camp, and the headsets with microphones were a very good idea. One small drawback: we would have liked to have had a schedule of the day's activities beforehand. Before we got off the bus on the way back from Auschwitz, we didn't know how or when we were going to the salt mine.

what an extraordinary and unforgettable tour experience. truly a full day immersed in history, exploring and learning about two profoundly distinct periods of time. everything was seamless: the buses were perfectly on schedule, check-ins were hassle free, and we were thoughtfully accounted for every step of the way. no matter how far we strayed from the group, the bus waited for us, ensuring we never felt rushed. but what truly set this tour apart was our guide, Lara - an absolute gem of a person. her warmth, kindness, and genuine care for everyone made all the difference. not only was she knowledgeable, and sensitive, but she also went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable as we moved from location to location. she didn’t just guide us, she brought the experience to life, making every moment feel a little more special and personal. Lara is just one of those rare people who leaves an impression that lasts long after the tour ends. as an american traveling in a foreign country and not speaking the native language, this tour made everything exceptionally easy and smooth. there were no moments of confusion or uncertainty, the guidance was clear, and we always knew exactly where to be and what was happening next. every step of the journey was thoughtfully laid out, removing any of the usual stresses that come with being in a new place. by the end of the day, i didn’t just feel like a tourist... i felt connected to the history, culture, and people in a way that left me fulfilled and grateful for the experience. this tour truly delivered a sense of ease and discovery appreciated by those who are naturally more anxious. i couldn't recommend it more.
These are 2 visits that leave a lasting impression. They're well worth the detour. The 2 can be done in a day, but it's quite sporty. Day from 11am to 1pm. Plan to rest well on the buses. Remember to take your breakfast and picnic lunch with you, as well as water. The bus drivers and guides are very friendly and helpful. One big drawback: the organizers offer you the choice of meeting place and time, but in reality they don't take it into account. The day before, we received an SMS with a non-negotiable time and place. For us, it was a 20-minute walk instead of 5 minutes. And 1h30 earlier than planned!

Amazing experience. Our driver and guide Mr. Janek was insightful and accommodating. He made sure the trip was informative, enjoyable, and that we were prepared for both Auschwitz and the salt mine. I would recommend this tour and Mr. Janek to absolutely anyone.
The full-day offer to visit both sites is quite attractive. The company's service is well managed. However, it's a long day, with waiting times that can be quite long.

Everything was smooth. We were picked up in a pick up point near our hotel, went to Salt mine, enjoyed the tour there and after, went to Auschvitz, where we also had a guide who explained everything in detail, answered our questions and made everything run smoothly
Great communication from staff regarding pick up times and locations. The guide Daniel was informative and done his best to look after us all. Driver Janos kept us safe and kept to specified times. Matt Kingsland
Fantastic tours very moving st Auschwitz and Biirkenau then onto the fantastic tour of the Salt Mines,. It was a very long day as our pick up time was at 5.45am but we really enjoyed it
The guide at Auschwitz-birkenau was very professional. She recalled continously enormous amounts of historical dates, numbers and more all the time keeping us grounded with the human tragedy of it all. She varied her narrative from the large historical details to the small aspects and lived experience from the victims of nazi germany. I am very grateful for this profound insight in human evil nature, and will do my best not to forget what I have learned. Thank you.
It was everything very nicely organized. I would prefer the Salt Mine tour to be shorter, but that is a personal preference.
It was amazing, specially Daniel , nice guy. Lady driver was bit silent and strict. But Overall experience was amazing.
The tour guide Marek was brilliant. He had excellent knowledge of both Auschwitz and Berkanau and delivered in a genuine/authentic way. Give that guy a raise.
Everything was perfectly organized. Daniel excellent took care of a small problem with the name of the ticket. Excellent guides at both Auschwitz & Salt Works. Change in departure time but better because you get back earlier.

Transportation and tour were fine, we had a nice lunch and the salt mine tour is wonderful! The only thing is and I warn you... They will change the hour of the tour on the day before, depending on their needs, so be prepared! Mine was schedule for a 7h15am pick up, but we were told the day before around 5pm that we ahould be ready for a 6h25am pick up. So, make your plans accordingly to not miss Auschwitz and the salt mine, both really worthy excursions!

Our tour guide was a really welcoming lady who taught us so much on our tour around the museum. The headsets given out were really good as we could always hear what she was saying, and she took the pace steadily so nobody was left behind- however we weren't hanging around too long either. We had enough time to really take in all the information, and I'd thoroughly recommend this to others visiting Krakow. Lovely staff, thank you!!
Great guide, little disappointed that we came out of a different shaft and a normal elevator in the town. Good experience.
The meeting point was directly in front of the entrance. Direct access at the time of the tour. Our guide was very knowledgable. I would reccomend this trip.
The guide was really good but the experience was chaotic. Tour was too big, tours and individuals were trying to view the same things at the same time. Guides were overlapping
The guide was very knowledgeable and willing to answer questions, my only criticism would be it felt a little rushed and the group felt a bit too large which meant the people at the back sometimes missed the start of the information, as there wasn't always enough room for everyone to fit in comfortably.
The guide was excellent. It is an interesting museum and on a first visit very helpful to be guided as there is so much to see and understand.
The museum is incredible. I would like to thank our young lady that was our tour guide. Unfortunately I cannot recall her name but she was excellent.
Ticketing with you was easy and I found the prices cheaper. Some of the staff at the experience were very rude! and no no language barrier! the event itself was amazing
Everything is fine but our group, a school, had 16 participants and we were able to book only 14. It ended up fine, actually as we all could participate but for this amount of people, there should be an arrangement.
Our local guide was exceptional with her own family history adding to the experience. Great to skip the line and no problems with our booking with headout
Tickets were easy to book. The guide was informative and funny. Souvineers were good value. Be aware that the walk to the lift at the end takes ages!
Lots of information from tour guide, interesting layout & excellent exhibits. Only down side why not awesome as no time to read everything
Our guide was very informative and made the tour interactive by asking questions of the group. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and gave us an awful lot to think about. A very humbling experience. Thank you.
The tour guide Magda was excellent. She was enthusiastic and knowledgeable and her English was excellent. The exhibits and video footage were very emotive and the explanatory information was very good. However, the experience was somewhat marred by the chaos outside at the gathering point. There appeared to be no organisation and no clear signage to assist customeres link up with their guides. I felt that we had to be rushed along on the tour as there were other groups very close on our heels. Perhaps larger gaps between groups would be helpful.

Auschwitz-Birkenau & Wieliczka Salt Mine Guided Tour from Krakow with Optional Lunch
Skip-the-Line Combo: Wieliczka Salt Mine + Schindler's Factory
About 101 meters underground you will find the chapel of St Kinga, the patron saint of the salt miners. The three-piece altar and the bas-relief depicting the Last Supper are some of the most important elements here. You will also find reliefs depicting events described in the Scripture, such as the wedding in Cana or the escape to Egypt.
Established in 1951, it is the largest underground museum in Europe. Located on the third level, this Wieliczka Salt Mine museum boasts ancient artifacts, exhibits on the salt mine's history, and a geological exhibit. The most valuable artifact of this underground salt museum is the Renaissance Horn of the Diggers' Brotherhood from 1534.
The Stanisław Staszic Chamber is 36-meters and is the tallest structure in the Wieliczka Salt Mine. In fact, due to its large size, a world record attempt for underground ballooning was hosted here in 2000. Balloonist Krzysztof Rekas managed to float 7 feet off the cavern floor, 410 feet underground.
The mine has several brine lakes and the most popular Wieliczka Salt Mine lake is the one in the Weimar Chamber. A popular spot for proposals, this lake has a teal hue because of the high level of sodium chloride in its water.
Walk through the mystical salt labyrinth with walls of glistening salt crystals. Carved by the skilled hands of miners, these winding corridors echo centuries of history. You can also taste salt by taking some from the walls of the passageways.
Prepare to be awestruck by the salt sculptures – a testament to the artistic prowess hidden within the mine's depths. Marvel at intricate sculptures, including chandeliers, altarpieces, and even life-sized figures, all meticulously carved from salt.
This salt mine cathedral showcases the ethereal beauty of salt-carved religious sculptures. This underground sanctuary, adorned with salt crystals and intricate carvings, offers a unique blend of spirituality and craftsmanship.
The Chamber of Casimir is named after the medieval monarch who played a pivotal role in the mine's development. The chamber boasts King Casimir's stunningly carved statue and showcases the grandeur of salt mining history through artifacts, tools, and illustrations.
Crafted by the skilled miner-sculptor Antoni Wyrobek, this masterpiece draws inspiration from Leonardo da Vinci's iconic work, 'The Last Supper'. As you admire the intricacies, don't miss the other captivating reliefs in St. Kinga's Chapel depicting biblical tales like the wedding in Cana and the escape to Egypt.
It is an underground chamber where the gentle glow of candlelight dances off the walls, and a tranquil brine lake glistens in the background, creating a scene straight out of a fairy tale. No wonder it's so popular among the love birds for marriage proposals!
General timings: 9 AM to 5 PM
Duration: 2-4 hours
Closed on: 1st January, Easter Sunday, and 24th and 25th December.
Best time to visit: For the best underground weather conditions, consider visiting between June and August, the peak season for tourism. To enhance your experience during these months, plan your trip to the mine either early or late in the day when the mine tends to be less crowded. Alternatively, November to March offers the best time to visit for those looking to steer clear of large crowds.
